KITCHEN TEAM
Team Leader Dirty-Duck
The Kitchen Team will be responsible for collecting and bringing up materials for the kitchen, example: Paper Towels/bags/tables...etc. Some materials will be covered in the community fee and reimbursed, but other things like trash cans and kitchen lights will be brought by individuals and their use be 'donated' to the kitchen and taken back home by that same person and not be
'property' of Mudskippers.
All team members will sign up for 3 days kitchen duty/managing 1 of those days Mon-Sun.

History: Growing up in a small town in Texas, Sunshower's daddy was a pastor of a church in Sugar Land. But Sunshower had bigger dreams than cows, football and the bible belt. So he made his way to California in search of gold. He found it within. Sunshower has a very adventuresome spirit. He loves how Burning Man encourages you to push the boundaries of self expression. And the beauty of giving without expecting anything back in return. Sunshower looks forward to shining on you on the Playa! |

17 years ago in high school I wrote a short story called "Utopia" about a fictional ideal society where everyone was living in harmony, free of inhibitions and functioning as a true community, in every sense of the word. I used to wonder if such a place ever existed or ever would. Then, with the dawn of the century I saw a movie entitled "The Beach" and it was like my story (all be it still fictional) was put onto film. Three years ago, stationed with the Marines in Iraq, I felt the same sense of camaraderie and communion that I wrote about as a teen and saw in that movie – it was very moving. It was there, in the middle of the Al Anbar desert, that I felt more in touch with myself than ever before. I thought about my past and my life as a child. I could vaguely recall, as if awakening from a dream and trying to put together the pieces as they quickly slip away, the days of my youth - how carefree I was. How stress, judgment and inhibition were not words in my vocabulary. Then somehow through adulthood, unbeknownst to me, these poisons were slowly fed to me, day by day. As a doctor, I’m searching for the cure! I live my life by “The Four Agreements” and endeavor to keep my spirit of youth at all cost! 2 years ago I learned of a remote place in the Nevada desert where my “Utopia” comes to life for a fleeting moment in time. I knew from that moment on that I needed to get there and experience this lost city of Atlantis for myself. For my primordial burn, I long to reconnect with myself, lose my inhibitions, let go of my stress and re-invoke the child inside who so longs to come out once again - all while communing with you, my fellow mudskippers, as we journey through Black Rock City “Metropolis” together!!!
I have nothing but unconditional love and gratitude to you for welcoming me into your group. I think we’re overdue to get a little “dirty”, don’t you???
